The Martin-Niemöller-Schule (MNS) is a grammar school/ high school in Wiesbaden - located in the beautiful Rhine-Main area, close to Frankfurt and the wine-growing Rheingau with its picturesque villages along the Rhine river. We are actively in search of an English or American prospective partner school to start an exchange programme for grade 8 or 9 (±14-year-old students). Not only our students but the whole school community including teachers and parents would embrace an enduring relationship with open arms.The MNS was a mere sixth form college/ senior high school for nearly 40 years. In 2015, we opened our gates for younger students and since then have had 90-150 pupils entering grade 5 each year. Today, the MNS is a growing school community of about 900 pupils and 65 teachers. We as teachers enjoy the vividness, the spirit of change and the new projects that we can put into practice.Apart from well-established projects like frequent pull-out days in maths, informatics or sciences and a regular successful participation in regional and national challenges and competitions we are eager to extend the opportunities for our mid-schoolers by an exchange programme that further enhances their motivation to learn English.At the MNS, English is taught as first foreign language, French and Latin as second. Students in grade 8 or 9, hence, are in their fourth, respectively fifth year of English. They have had plenty of classroom experience and are prepared and motivated for a hands-on knowledge transfer.A school exchange is a profitable experience and aims at connecting people and cultures. It can broaden horizons and initiate motivation to learn language. By no means do you (as our prospective partner school) have to have German lessons at your school.
