Our Musikalisch-Sportliches Gymnasium is located in the heart of Leipzig (Saxony), within walking distance to the city center, the university as well as St. Nicholas Church (center of the Peaceful Revolution of 1989) and St. Thomas Church (J.S.Bach’s creative work place). Approximately 350 students attend our school and study here in grades 5 to 12. In addition to subjects from the regular curriculum, we can choose from subjects like Acrobatics, Dance, Judo, Parkour, Choir or Band. In year 8 we can then choose between a more intense qualification in Art, Music or Sports. And if we still want to learn more, we can attend extra-curricular clubs to write for the school’s paper, learn more foreign languages (in addition to English, Spanish and French) or sing with some of our teachers in the Teacher-Student Choir. Our school offers excellent fine arts and sports opportunities and with this special focus on Music and Sports we have got for example a cooperation with the opera house here in Leipzig and work closely with RB Leipzig (They just became one of the teams in the German Bundesliga). Our school already has partner schools in Zielona Gora (Poland), Kiev (Ukraine) and Cairo (Egypt). We are looking for a partner school in an English, Spanish or French speaking country that would also be interested in an exchange. We would like to visit in the fall and welcome your students in the spring of the following year.
