The Helene-Weber-Schule is located in Buchen, Baden-Württemberg in the idyllic Odenwald. We have about 450 students and 50 teachers. We are in close distance to major cities like Heidelberg, Mannheim, Würzburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Besides that our region offers many historic sites (including World Heritage Sites dating back to the Roman Empire), industry (e.g. Audi or Braun), professional sport clubs, a stalactite cave and an overall beautiful landscape with a lot of nature among many other things. At our school students can earn three different kinds of degrees catering to their abilities and future goals. All of our students learn English, but we also offer Spanish for our high school graduates. In addition we offer classes not only in common subjects as German, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Economy, Physical Education, Music, Literature, Theatre and so on but also e.g. cooking, sewing, medical and health care or child care. Some of our students even have their own business in school where they produce sandwiches, smoothies, fruit cups and other healthy lunch options made from local products which they sell to their fellow students and teachers.Since our school provides our students with divers opportunities to develop their individual skills, we are open to almost any kind of project, but we do not insist on project work. We are looking for an American High School which is interested in a regular exchange and which would like to partner up in the German-American Partnership Program (GAPP).
