
Ntchisi Secondary School was founded in 1965 under the ownership of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Malawi. The school serves the needs of Ntchisi district catchment area. The school commenced as a Boys Secondary School. However, assessing the socio-psychological needs of a child-girl, the community around with the consent of the educational authorities initiated a boarding facility for girls.The school is a comprehensive four-year district high school enrolling 205 boys and 93 girls in all forms(grades). Regular classes daily from 7:30am to 3:30p.m. The school has extracurricular activities performed outside the realm of the normal time such as philanthropic activities or solidarity projects, school clubs such as Debate Club, Wildlife Club, Red Cross Club, Culture Club, Human Rights Club, Climate Change Club and Writers Club. The medium of communication and instruction of all the curricular subjects is English except Chichewa language. Currently, the school has 18 members of staff and 6 non-teaching workers.Geographically, the school is located in the central region of Malawi, close to the popularly known Nkhota-kota Game Reserve and the beautiful African Lake Malawi.SCHOOL VISION: To provide quality and relevant education that will sustain individuals for national development.SCHOOL MISSION: To equip students with relevant knowledge, skills, values and attitudes necessary for them to contribute to socio-economic, political, and cultural development of the country in line with the three thematic areas of National Education Sector Plan(NESP) namely access and equity, quality and relevance, governance and management.SCHOOL MOTTO: No pains no gains.
