We are looking to start a new, long term GAPP exchange with a German high school. We are very excited about the possibility of creating new, life-enriching friendships through cultural exchange! Timber Creek High School, founded in 2009, is a part of the Keller Independent School District, which is located in the northern part of suburban Fort Worth, Texas. We are a 15-20 drive from downtown Fort Worth and 40 minutes from downtown Dallas. Although we are part of a large metropolitan area, our community has somewhat of a small-town feel. Our cities (Dallas/Fort Worth) offer several cultural and entertainment possibilities. There are world-class museums, amusement parks, music venues, restaurants, shopping areas, and professional sporting events year-round. Beautiful Austin and San Antonio are also wonderful out-of-town excursion options. Our school is rather large with approximately 3300 students and 200 teachers. We offer several outstanding academic, occupational, and extracurricular programs with first-class facilities. Students have the opportunity to select from four diploma "endorsements" or tracks to prepare for life after high school. These include Arts/Humanities, Business/Industry, Public Services, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Our extracurricular programs include music, theater, and numerous sports and clubs. We have a fantastic World Languages department, which offers German, French, Spanish, and American Sign Language. The German Program is very strong; it has grown year after year. Timber Creek High German students are ecstatic about the chance to truly experience the German culture!
