Hessenwaldschule (HWS) is a cooperative comprehensive school located in the region of Hesse, Germany. Hessenwaldschule offers a broad educational program, including secondary school classes from grades 5 to 10, as well as a high school branch. Approximately 650 students attend our school, which is nestled in a beautiful natural setting. The school is situated in a rural area, yet it is conveniently close to larger cities such as Frankfurt and Darmstadt, so there are lots of things to see and to do. Our school integrates culture and interculturality into daily life, emphasizing sport, art, theater, and music education. Hessenwaldschule offers a strong language program as well, including English, Spanish and Chinese, in collaboration with the largest Chinese school in Germany. As a full-day school, we focus on creating a supportive learning environment from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, offering a variety of extracurricular activities and support services.
