Paul Schneider Gymnasium's campus is beautifully located in the small medieval town of Meisenheim. Surrounded by a rather rural area in the west of Germany, it offers a rich history dating back to the Romans. At the same time, many urban areas are very close. The school is about 30 minutes away from Kaiserslautern, 1h away from Frankfurt or Coblenz, 2 1/2h from Cologne, about a 3h train ride from Paris. We are a small school with 600 students (from 5th-13th grade, ages 10-18) and about 50 teachers. Although the school is one of eight schools in west Germany run by the protestant chruch, school life is very similar to that of a public school. The school puts an emphasis on sports. Therefore, we have outstanding sports facilities including a gym, swimming pool, climbing walls, beach volleyball courts, etc. Our students start learning English as their first foreign language from grade 5 onward so the students who will participate will be able to speak English quite well. We have some experience in exchange programms since we have a regular exchange with a French school, stay regularly with host families in England and Spain and maintain close connections to schools in Rwanda and Japan.
