Gymnasium Rhauderfehn is a school in the rural area of Ostfriesland ( in the north-west of Germany, 80 km to the west of Bremen, 230 km from Hamburg or Hannover) with about 950 pupils (10-19 years) and ca 70 teachers. We are looking for partner schools that are interested in working together in a Comenius project. We have already got a partner school in the Czech Republic, and think the topic "Water" might be an exciting project idea, but are of course open to other suggestions, too.Our school has been existing since 2004, now as a full-time day school. We have got a new cafeteria and a new gymnasium etc. and have just started with netbook classes.Since this year we have been a "Europe School", but have already taken part in a Comenius project and several other programmes. Our pupils start learning English as their first foreign language in class 5. In class 6 they can choose from French, Dutch and Latin as their second foreign language. Within the context of promoting gifted children we also offer Italian. In class 5 and 6 we always have a brass class, i.e. the children learn an instrument in their class group for two years and can decide for a musical focus afterwards.
