The "Städtische Gymnasium Steinheim" is a school with currently 515 students and 49 teachers. We offer many focal points in musical-cultural, scientific-technical, linguistic, sports and social-scientific areas for our students. For example, in the natural sciences we encourage them with a special teaching program, which includes a student research laboratory, internal science competitions, extra scientific classes, cooperation with universities and much more. A school partnership already exists with schools in the Hungarian city of Szigetszentmiklós. In addition, student exchanges with the city of Marquise (France) are carried out at irregular intervals. In addition to our ongoing projects, we would like to implement a student exchange program with Israeli pupils. Here, we want to encourage international understanding and a peaceful coexistence by offering intercultural encounters. We are convinced that these encounters are great opportunities to learn to understand other points of view and form new friendships. Moreover, we want our students to learn about the Israeli culture, politics and history and to give them the chance to discuss experiences and opinions on common historical events. Surely, both Israeli and german students thereby get the chance to strengthen their communicative and social skills and open their minds for the global challenges they are facing these days.Steinheim is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia and belongs to the district of Höxter.
