Roentgen-Gymnasium is located in Remscheid, a city in the beautiful region of the Bergisches Land. It is within easy reach of Cologne and Duesseldorf on the river Rhine and the cities of the Ruhr district. It has approx. 750 students and 70 members of staff. In our educational work the focus lies on three different fields:1. Languages: our students can choose from 5 different languages (English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Latin) with exchanges to the UK, France, Spain and China. 2. Science and Physics: as our school is named after Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, the discoverer of the X-rays, we put emphasis on applying science in the students' laboratory "RöLab" and co-operate with various scientific institutes. 3.Social Sciences: As part our school's curriculum, we promote democracy and human rights by remembering German and Jewish history. Two of our teachers have successfully participated in the teachers' training course "Erziehung nach Auschwitz" in Yad Vashem.
