Neues Gymnasium Rüsselsheim
Country: Germany
Town: Rüsselsheim

Neues Gymnasium in Rüsselsheim is currently looking for exchange partners from the U.S./Canada/UK both with regard to an actual student exchange as well as other forms of cooperation with the aim to enhance the students' intercultural as well as their foreign language skills. Having opened for the 2008/09 school year, we are a comparatively new and modern school near Frankfurt in the beautiful Rhine-Main area with a young staff and state-of-the-art equipment. We have implemented the e-learning platform “itslearning”, which, among other elements, contributes to our opening up for modern teaching involving digital media. We are also a lighthouse school for educational tablet use (every student in years 10-12 uses their own tablet computer) and have smartboards in all our classrooms. We have double lessons and teacher classrooms, which allow every teacher to organize and decorate their classroom according to the equipment needed for their individual subjects. We are an “inclusive” school, which means that we also have students with special needs (mild forms of autism, visual defects etc.). These students are accompanied to class by special “integration staff” (Integrationshelfer).Feel free to find out more about us and receive an impression of our beautifully designed school in a former GM/Opel factory building on our website http://www.neues-gymnasium-ruesselsheim.de/ or visit us on itslearning (https://ngr.itslearning.com/).If you are also interested in establishing a partnership, we're happily awaiting your response. Best regards, Daniel Schäfer (teacher at the English Department at Neues Gymnasium)

Requests concerning your future partner school: We are aiming at establishing a long-term partnership for grades 10-12 (age 15-17). Ideally, this partnership includes an annual exchange, i.e. a group of ca. 15-20 students visiting each other in their home countries and staying in host families. Regarding our schedule, we would prefer visiting you either in October or April for at least 2 weeks. There are many families on our side that are willing to host students, thus it is possible to welcome a group that exceeds 20 students.
