Engelbert-Kaempfer-Gymnasium is secondary school for both boys and girls with approximately 850 students aged 10-19 situated in the beautiful and historic town of Lemgo close to the Teutoburg Forest and only a stone’s throw away from the cities of Bielefeld and Hanover. Our school is a science-oriented school. However, we strongly encourage our students to study foreign languages as well to gain insight into different cultures and to prepare them for the global world we live in. All of our students learn English and a lot of them opt for French later on. We also offer Japanese for our students aged 16+. We enjoy learning about other cultures and broaden our horizons. We already have existing student exchange programmes with schools from France, Turkey and Japan. We are looking for a whole school partnership with a school in an English-speaking country that will eventually lead to exchange visits. We would like our students to learn more about life in the English-speaking world and to make friends across borders. We would also love to share our culture and way of life with our partner school. Our school is situated in the town of Haskovo. The town is famous for its monument of Virgin Marry,which is the biggest in the world.There are also many ancient and historical plases to visit. Our school is located in the town of Strazhitsa situated in the northern part of the country near the historical city of Veliko Turnovo. It is a small town (about 5000 citizens) with administrative functions. rnThe school is the biggest in the area and has students from the town and the neighbouring villages. Some of our students belong to different ethnical groups (Roma, Turks), and others are with special educational needs and take extra classes with professionals. There are also students from the local orphanage. For these children our school provides regular psychological consultancy. We also have very talented students who take part in national and international contests in different fields- arts, music, literature, sports.
